Josesph Roberts graduated from Port Sulphur High School in 1966 and attended LSU where he obtained a Juris Doctorate degree in 1976. After being admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1976 he began working in the New Orleans District Attorney’s Office in 1977 prosecuting major felonies. He began a private practice in 1978 until 1996 when he began working for the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office. He was assigned to the Code Six, a vertical prosecution unit, for four years and then spent eight years as a screening Assistant District Attorney primarily focused on drug prosecutions. In January 2009, Mr. Roberts was sworn in as Assistant District Attorney for Plaquemines Parish prosecuting felonies in Division A.
