We’re excited to announce the latest addition to the District Attorney’s Office in Plaquemines Parish. Avery Riley has been appointed as an Assistant District Attorney to handle the cases involving juveniles, child support and public records request, in addition to other tasks.
Avery Riley is a native of Plaquemines Parish, originally from Port Sulphur, and a 2008 graduate of Belle Chasse High School. Avery went on to LSU where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology. He then attended law school at the Southern University Law Center as an evening student earning his juris doctorate in 2017.
After law school Avery spent 4 years working as a public defender in Plaquemines Parish. He then worked as an Assistant Parish Attorney for the Plaquemines Parish Government for a year before joining the Plaquemines Parish District Attorney’s Office.
Avery has been married to Angelle Carter for 4 years and they currently reside in Belle Chasse.
