We have moved locations from 102 Avenue G to our new office at 333 F. Edward Hebert Blvd, Building 201.
The new location in the Plaquemines Parish Government Complex is the first standalone state-of the-art office of the District Attorney since a fire destroyed the original office.
During the last eighteen years, a series of temporary trailers and buildings have housed the D.A.’s Office. Victims of crime, law enforcement, witnesses, community members, and staff conducted business in temporary facilities that were prone to mold, termites, faulty plumbing, over-crowding, and periodic flooding.
“As a life-long resident, I am grateful and happy that the people of Plaquemines Parish now have a facility built for prosecution to be used for generations to come,” said Charles Ballay.
The new location provides adequate space and multi-media technology for trial preparation, training events for fellow law enforcement agencies, and interdepartmental meetings. Additionally, the new building’s climate-controlled storage area is built to accommodate historical file storage, critical to prosecution, previously housed in a shipping container which accelerated file deterioration.
This renovation is the culmination of many years of work in coordination with the Plaquemines Parish Government, the Plaquemines Parish Council, and the federal and state grants that made this project possible.
If you find yourself a victim of a crime or need any assistance from the District Attorney’s Office, please stop by during office hours, 8:30 – 4:30 Monday through Thursday and 8:30 – 4 Fridays.
