On Monday, January 11th Charles J. Ballay was sworn in as District Attorney of Plaquemines Parish (25th Judicial District) to a 3rd term. His son, Brian Ballay, administered the oath while his wife, Claire, held the bible.
DA Ballay then administered the oath to Jerry Lobrano who will serve as his 1st Assistant District Attorney, and to his Assistant District Attorneys: Mary Slavich Touzet, Sarah Ansardi Tesvich, Jason Napoli, Temia Griffin, and Edward “Ned” McGowan (although Mr. McGowan will be leaving at the end of this month).
Mr. Napoli had been an Assistant District Attorney in Orleans Parish in its major felony division and Ms. Griffin is returning to Belle Chasse after practicing law in Houston for the past several years. Ms. Griffin is a 2006 graduate of Belle Chasse High School and her parents are residents in Belle Chasse.
Robert White, who had been 1st Assistant District Attorney for DA Ballay for the past 12 years, is transferring to the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office to be in a leadership role with it.
DA Ballay thanked his staff and supporters who were present. He also mentioned what his office has accomplished and what they intend to accomplish in his 3rd term.
