Following a Trial on March 2-3, 2023, a juvenile was adjudicated delinquent as charged in violation of La.R.S. 14:99- Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, La.R.S. 23:299 Unlawful Violation of an Off-Road Vehicle, La.R.S. 14:96- Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway, La.R.S. 14:108.1- Aggravated Flight From an Officer Where Human Life is Endangered, and La.R.S. 14:108 Resisting an Officer.
On February 19, 2022, the juvenile unlawfully operated an off-road vehicle on LA23 and LA406 and fled from P.P.S.O. which resulted in a pursuit that placed the juvenile, other motorists, and deputies in danger.
The Honorable Michael D. Clement presided over the Adjudication and will render a Disposition in the next thirty days.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Mary Slavich Touzet and Temia P. Griffin.
