True compassion is helping others out of a genuine sense of caring. What made the famous Good Samaritan good was that he personally helped. This is what drives the Plaquemines Parish District Attorney’s Office and it’s staff every year for Christmas.
For the past 3 years, the American Legion Post #329 under the leadership of Commander John Richardson and District Attorney Charles Ballay partner to bring a little holiday cheer to several families in our parish. This year with the help of Clerk of Court Kim Turlich-Vaughan, the Belle Chasse Garden Club, American Safety, Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Goodgion, Thompson’s Kitchen, members of St. Vincent de Paul of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Belle Chasse, Capt. Mark, LLC, Venice Marina, and employees of the PPG Finance Department, Water Department, and Administration Department donated gifts and gave monetary contributions that allowed us to purchase gifts for 132 children in our parish. Wrapped gifts were picked up at the DA’s Office or delivered by Rae Riley and Cordelia Ingo just in time for Christmas.
