October is breast cancer awareness month, so on Wednesday, October 23rd, Plaquemines Parish Government encouraged all parish entities, residents, and business owners to wear their “Paint Plaquemines Pink” t-shirts in support of all those affected by breast cancer and to raise funds in support of breast cancer research and treatment.
Proceeds from t-shirt sales went to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, an organization which, to date, has invested more than $2.9 billion in research and support for those battling with this disease.
The “Paint Plaquemines Pink” campaign showed a great outpouring of support from our community and let those struggling with breast cancer know that they are not in this alone.
