Christmas is a very special time of year and every family deserves to have a Merry Christmas. District Attorney Charles Ballay and his staff and the American Legion Post #329, under the leadership of Commander John Richardson, partnered to bring a little holiday cheer to several families in our parish. The Belle Chasse Garden Club, Thompson’s Kitchen, American Safety, LLC, Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Goodgion, Clerk of Court Kim Turlich-Vaughan and her staff, the Plaquemines Parish Finance Department, Water Department, Permits Department and employees of the Buildings Department participated in purchasing gifts or gave monetary donations for these disadvantaged families, some of whom suffered unspeakable tragedy. These contributions allowed us to purchase the exact item that each child wanted for Christmas. We were able to donate gifts to 15 families that consisted of 42 children. Each child received a minimum of 4-5 gifts. Wrapped gifts were picked up at the District Attorney’s Office or delivered by Rae Riley in time for Christmas.
