On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Franklin Melvin Senfles plead Guilty to Manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections by Judge Kevin Conner in Plaquemines Parish.
Senfles, age 22 from Gretna, was indicted for Second Degree Murder for the death of Hailey Deickman that occurred on May 18, 2021 in Belle Chasse. Hailey was set to graduate from Belle Chasse High School on week later.
Hailey’s death resulted from taking a percocet pill she and a friend had purchased from Senfles that contained fentanyl. Hailey’s death was listed as acute fentanyl toxicity.
One-week prior to Hailey’s death Senfles was hospitalized for signs of fentanyl overdose after consuming one of the pills from the same stash Senfles used to distribute to Hailey and her friend.
The case was prosecuted by Jason Napoli and Sarah Tesvich.
